So, the last few nights as I have been feeding my newborn son in the middle of the night, I have been re-watching a movie that just floored me when I first saw it. As you can see from the image to the left, Gattaca is the film under comment. It is simply a phenomenal exploration of a very possible future reality with genetics, etc. What strikes me about the film is how its not very much of a leap to imagine the day when people are discriminated on the basis of their genetic code and their potential (or lack thereof). Its also a good movie to watch w/ an infant beacuse there aren’t many explosions or loud noises. Its a beautiful character driven sci-fi movie.
